Krista Cranston
Guitar & Piano Instructor

Krista Cranston began studying voice at the age of eleven with Canadian soprano Elise Bèdard. Discovering her love of musical theatre, Krista went on to study at the Randolph Academy for the Performing Arts in Toronto, graduating with a Diploma in Musical Theatre. It was here that Krista honed her skills as a triple threat performer, studying voice with tenor Michael Donovan, as well as dance and acting with top industry professionals. Krista is also a graduate of Redeemer University, earning her Bachelor of Arts with a double major in Music and Theatre Performance. While at Redeemer, Krista had the opportunity to study voice under the direction of Lisa Timney and Lenard Whiting (both previous members of the Canadian Opera Company). Krista is also the director of Theatre Ancaster’s Stage2 programs, introducing musical theatre to children ages 7-15. An avid performer, Krista has performed in over 20 musical and theatrical productions and has directed many more. She can also be heard performing on the Hamilton music circuit, often with the Dave Ptolemy Band. Krista has been teaching voice, drama, and piano for the past eight years and is proud to be the owner of Ancaster Avalon Music Academy.
