Mike has had extensive experience in the field of popular music since the 1990s. Signed to Warner Music Canada, his band "The Killjoys" recorded four CD's, had eight top 40 singles in Canada, and won a Juno award in 1996. Mike has also written music for television shows, including "Comedy at Club 54" and "Canadian Sportfishing". He attended the Applied Music program at Mohawk College in Hamilton, and has been teaching guitar and voice since the late '90s.
